LEGACY STAMPED | KALYN PENDLETON & MATTHEW MALLET
PINE BLUFF, Ark. — A vibrant new visual landmark on the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) campus has been completed. Blending in and anchoring the university's history right into the daily rhythm of student life. The project took root when Aareyon Wallace reached out to Kalyn Pendleton and Matthew Mallet about the piece, creating a spark of creativity for the artist. Balancing the weight of representation with the thrill of large-scale public art, the artist embraced the challenge.
"When Aareyon Wallace first approached me with the request to design a mural for UAPB, I was a whirlwind of excitement and nerves," the artist shared. "I knew this project would transcend my personal boundaries and become something truly special. As I crafted this design, I aimed to capture iconic moments from UAPB’s history while simultaneously inviting future generations to contribute their own unique marks on the institution’s legacy."

The resulting artwork stands as more than just a striking addition to a campus wall; it serves as a living timeline. By weaving together milestones from UAPB's storied past with a modern design, the mural bridges the gap between the trailblazers who laid the foundation and scholars that are shaping the campus today. For the artist, the root of the project lies entirely in community connection and generational empowerment:

Gallery TwentyFour09 x Beyond the Divide
We're excited to announce that for the first time, our gallery has been accepted to participate in Juneteenth Art Night on Ninth in Little Rock, Arkansas. On June 19, patrons will have the opportunity to experience the gallery in a physical space, view original artwork by KP and LaurynAshley, and connect with the artists and stories behind the work. Join us for an evening celebrating creativity, culture, and community as we bring our vision beyond the digital space and into the heart of Little Rock.
Gallery TwentyFour09 in Dallas | Black Girl Art Show
This past weekend, Gallery TwentyFour09 made its way to Dallas, Texas for the Black Girl Art Show — and it did not disappoint. Being in a space filled with Black women artists, creators, and community members was nothing short of inspiring. We left Dallas with full hearts, fresh ideas, and an even deeper commitment to the work we do here at home. Experiences like this remind us exactly why representation in art spaces matters, and why we keep showing up. More to come from what we brought back!
